Austrian Bundesheer M-65 Field Jacket Like New X-Large 112-116 Short I/II I'm 5'9, 44 in chest. This jacket Fits me perfectly with room to spare. I almost got the smaller size when I try to changed my order with Gavin. Luckily, he didn't send me Large size requested. The XL was the correct size for me. It was very difficult finding the correct size from various online pictures, measurements mfrom ebay & poshmark listings. Unlike the American version, the OG M-65 jacket, you need to size down from your regular size. The Austrian Bundesheer jacket is true to size Fit for me as XL. The short length works great, not too long or too short, also sleeve length in 25 inch is just right. The jacket has a satin feel to it. Almost like a sleepwear clothing, you get toasty very quickly wearing it.
My only gripe with this particular jacket made in 1996 There's two versions of this jacket, one is made of Gore-Tex, which is more tougher material & waterproof, very durable under extreme condition, much stronger than nylon & the polyester/cotton blend version of my jacket. Austrian M-65 Gore-Tex jacket version is much harder to find esp in XL size online. Most being sold out. The Gore-Tex version has snap buttons compared to the polyester/cotton blend version that have these flimsy plastic buttons, that's a bit loose for a 30yo military jacket. Also the jacket didn't have the Osterreich patch which makes the jacket distinguishable
To put it lightly the polyester blend Austrian Bundesheer jacket I own now doesn't feel like a military jacket, that's resistant to scratches or snags compared to the mighty Gore-Tex shell Austrian M-65 jacket. I suppose the poly-cotton jacket is made for military personnel in a moderate drier, moderate climate, while the Gore-Tex version is made for rugged, wet cold environment. Gore-Tex is a more breathable material, higher quality, scratch resistant & water proof material than the poly-cotton material. Maybe in the future, if I had the chance to get the Gor-Tex Austrian Bundesheer jacket. That's the higher quality version.
